SETTING THE COMPASS: The North of Here Charter

The North of Here Charter
"The Second Act isn't a retirement from life; it’s a step-up to the life you were actually meant to lead."
1. The Compass over the Map
If the First Act was about following careers and expectations maps laid out by others, the Second Act is about grabbing the compass.
The exact destination might not be precise, but we know the direction. North of Here is an upward trajectory, a commitment to moving toward a higher version of ourselves, one degree at a time.
2. Authenticity is the Only Currency
We’ve spent enough time wearing the "professional" mask. No more fancy jargon or management speak. We value the "respray"—the ability to acknowledge the rust and the mileage while applying a fresh, bold coat of intent. We speak plainly, observe keenly, and stay true to the Northern grit that keeps us grounded.
3. Creativity is Not a Luxury; It’s a Survival Skill
Despite being battle-scarred and a little weary, creativity helps us get re-energised and extracted from the middle age rut, unharnessing our talents for achieving a quiet joy of internal fulfillment.
4. Curiosity is Our Engine
Information overload is noise; curiosity is the signal. We tune in by:
Reading to expand the internal landscape.
Listening to music that challenges and comforts.
Travelling to remember that the world is bigger than our habits.
Committing to a more nourished life
5. Embracing the Pivot
Change isn't a threat; it’s the start of a new chapter, so we don’t fear the turn of the page. We face the challenges head-on, knowing that the most interesting stories happen when we take those unplanned detours and diversions.
6. Real, Not Grand
It’s not just about climbing the mountain for the view, but the whole journey of the ascent. World-conquering success isn’t really the goal now - it’s the quiet and solid satisfaction that we are piloting the aircraft with full control and authenticity.
