NEW ZEALAND, NASHVILLE & MANCHESTER: Grace Kelly
Having been privileged to see Grace Kelly perform in Manchester in September as part of a holy country triumvirate (Maya Lane, Ruby Lily and Grace, captured in my review here) I was made patently aware of the talent the New Zealand born singer songwriter possesses.

More recently relocated to Manchester, Grace has gone through something of an artistic rebirth—in the past she’s done the hard yards with stints in Nashville as well as her native homeland New Zealand, building up a solid body of Country-infused music—but her recent single “Bad Idea” from July 2026 and touring schedule revealed her laser like focus on capitalising on her new environment with a re-energised and punchy Americana sound.
With the tease of a forthcoming EP in Spring 2027, new single “Outta My Head” sits firmly on the trajectory she’s laying down.
WHAM, BAM: Outta My Head
Announcing its presence with the subtlety of a flying brick, the opening bars of the single virtually hurl their way out of the speakers. Irreverent, fuzzed up and grabbing your attention, Grace locks you in fully, right from the off.

Grace played the song towards the end of her set at Gullivers, Manchester in September 2026—its acoustic delivery back then only hinted at the power the fully-formed single now delivers.
But the message of the song remains crystal clear. The dilemma of letting “the nice guy that finishes last” go, the perils of making “a deal with the devil instead of putting myself first” swirl around as the pain of not being able to get them “outta my head” remains.
“Forgive and forget or live and regret.”

What is also consistent is Grace’s vocal prowess. With shades of the crystalline finesse of Jenny Lewis and more countrified stylings of Maria McKee, it truly runs riot all over the song as Grace’s raw emotion seeps into the depths of the track.
Musically it’s top notch too, a production that warmly deals with the searing vocals which build across the song’s three-plus minutes, whilst allowing some muscle flexing from a tight, on-the-money band. Shimna Bridget’s fiddle playing oozes across some meaty guitar playing from Dan Catherall, anchored by the rock steady drums of Dan Hudson and Ollie Green on bass.
Despite its Americana and Country underpinnings its rock muscle and pop melody leanings open things up to a much wider audience.
Get “Outta My Head” firmly into your head right now!

With the release of single “Outta My Head” on 30th October 2026, Grace Kelly is laying down a significant marker in the sand of the Americana, Country and wider Rock/Pop world.
With a new EP scheduled for release in Spring 2027 and more touring on the short term horizon (check out Grace at the Song Suffragettes event at L’il Nashville, Chiswick, London, 1st November 2026 below) it is going to be a busy, but rewarding time, as she is beautifully poised to fulfil her undoubted potential.
