Following my recent review of Lexi Cline’s new single here, I’ve been delighted to have access to her eagerly awaited debut album, Cowboy Survivor, which will be released on 13th November 2026.
CHARGING THE LIGHT BRIGADE: Lexi Cline

For Denver native Lexi Cline, returning to Nashville earlier this year marked the start of an ambitious new chapter. Known for her relatable storytelling, powerhouse vocals, and loyal fan community (The Brigade), Lexi has spent recent months establishing herself as one of modern country’s most compelling independent voices.
Having already shared stages with The Castellows, recorded at LA’s Coke Studios, and topped Spotify Pulse charts with early breakout tracks like "Cowgirls Are More Fun," Lexi enters this album release with undeniable momentum. Cowboy Survivor isn't just a collection of songs; it’s the culmination of an artist fully stepping into her signature sound.
Islands In The Streams
As a recent BBC News article outlined, more music is being created than at any other time in human history. Every day, more than 100,000 songs are being submitted to streaming services. It’s a crowded marketplace for any artist to gain exposure to their music.
This isn’t lost on Lexi. She’s previously gained much widespread reach on social media success—single “Orange Juice” has had over 6.2 million views on Facebook, “Better Late Than Never” chalked up 11 million TikTok views—so she is well aware of the whole package of content that needs to accompany the music and live shows to stimulate the likes, impressions, views and listens that drive today’s way of making it big.
Indeed, her emphasis on creative, story-driven visual content elevates her momentum. Her recent music videos act as vibrant, standalone islands that expand the narrative world of her music within the broader sea of digital streams.
New album, Cowboy Survivor is therefore well placed to capitalise on this success and continue to reward the exposure her artistic talent has already established, whilst significantly widening her musical reach.
TALK OF THE TOWN: The New Album, Cowboy Survivor
Lexi Cline’s new album Cowboy Survivor pulls together a suite of very well received singles released over the past year with the addition of a couple of sparkling new tracks.
My track-by-track review of the album and some associated creative, story-driven content captured in the videos that accompanied the singles, is documented below.
Shotgun Baby

First hitting the airwaves in September 2026 “Shotgun Baby” is a strong ‘statement of intent’ album opener.
With a slow burn and stripped back start, the red Cadillac, Stevie Nicks lucky shirt and 8pm anticipation set the scene for riding shotgun with a love that holds true (“You were always mine”). Lexi’s vocal aches and prowls its way around the perimeter of the anthemic song with some aplomb.
A beautifully understated video captures the mood of the song perfectly—the ride can be viewed below:

Having already proven its power as a standalone single (my detailed review is here), the title track shines even brighter within the context of the full album. It blends glossy country-pop production with an unyielding Americana backbone, driven forward by a thunderous rhythm section and Lexi’s commanding vocal performance. It remains the record's definitive anthem of facing the hard knocks head on—picking yourself up and stepping into the future.
The song’s wonderfully atmospheric and cinematic video graces the screen below:
Small Town Lover

An earlier single from June 2026, “Small Town Lover” sets off with a gentle banjo strummed opening before building up with percussive beats that cajole the track into life.
The heft of the chorus transforms the song, packing a massive punch as Lexi propels the rejected small-town lover back to the suburbs.
Another immaculately produced video paints a fitting backdrop to the song and can be seen below:
I Want More
New track “I Want More” reveals some classic light and shade—its quiet moments trading places with a chorus that powerfully explodes across the song. With more than a cowboy boot placed firmly into more pop-oriented territory it is another strong contender for single release, as Lexi channels her energy into the song’s lament about being unfulfilled.
Let’s Drink

Raising a glass or two, “Let’s Drink” over the course of its tight two-minute duration, packs the punch of a Jack Daniels and Coke— its Shaboozey-flavoured “Hey” interjections furnish the necessary fizz for a memorable and high-spirited song that sits well in the sequence of the overall album.
A video for “Let’s Drink”, naturally shot within a bar setting, raises a glass below:
Planting Daisies

“Planting Daisies” is one of the album’s standout tracks. With a joyous upbeat mood, it will also plant a smile on your face as Lexi pleads “‘til the day you pick me”.
With its carefully planted, grown and cultivated country vibe, the song blossoms into a classic country tune.
You can almost smell the flowers and grass of its ‘out in the field’ video below:
Don’t Trust A Gentleman
Another new track “Don’t Trust A Gentleman” sees its guitar-flecked tune showcase a vocal that recalls Shania Twain and perhaps even Amy Winehouse as its bluesy middle hits home. It has power and panache in equal measures—suiting Lexi’s delivery to a tee.
Talk Of The Town

“Talk of The Town”, a single from August 2026, closes the album.
It signs off in some style—armed with an undulating, Taylor Swift-esque vocal Lexi raises her head into the clouds as the insistent melody of the song weaves its way as she spins around the town in a new dress. It’s a candid small town tale that epitomises everything that is great about Lexi Cline—sharp songwriting, strong hooks and a wonderfully rich organic sound—it perfectly draws a line under the whole album.
For “Talk of the Town,” Lexi headed to Nashville’s Broadway, wearing curlers in public before revealing a playful music video starring three grandmas that doubled as the announcement of her debut album, “Cowboy Survivor.”
Given a good proportion of its tracks have stood on their own two feet and garnered release as singles, it is clear that there is absolutely no filler on Lexi’s debut album.
It is therefore a vibrant and strong showcase of her undoubted talent be it her ultra-sharp and focused songwriting, her exquisite vocal delivery and a band that never loses a beat or indeed sight of its Americana and country-pop stylings.
For a mix of expertly crafted, hook-filled but insightful and edgy country-pop songs look no further than Lexi Cline’s Cowboy Survivor.
She really is the talk of the town.
